How We Handle Information

This notice explains the information involved in reading this website and choosing to contact us.

Who is responsible

Norvebrowsecomet Spatial Studies Ltd, company no. SC792615, is responsible for personal information it processes in connection with this website and editorial correspondence. Our registered office is 16 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 1HG, United Kingdom. Privacy enquiries can be sent to [email protected].

The local project-note composer

The composer processes the topic, optional space description and message within your browser. The supplied tool has no submission endpoint and does not send those entries to us. It does not save drafts in cookies or browser storage. Reloading or leaving the page may discard your work.

Copying places the note on your device’s clipboard if your browser permits it. Downloading creates a local plain-text file. Your clipboard, downloads, device backups and any software that accesses them are controlled by your device and service settings, not by this site.

Information you send directly

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use this information to consider your enquiry, respond where appropriate, assess corrections and maintain necessary correspondence records. Do not send sensitive personal information, confidential plans or personal details about others unless there is a clear and lawful reason.

For ordinary editorial correspondence, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating the publication and responding to relevant communications. Where a request concerns a potential contract, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before entering one. Legal obligations may require us to retain or disclose particular records.

Technical access information

Serving a website involves technical information such as an IP address, requested resource, access time and browser request details. The hosting service may process access and security logs to deliver and protect the site. The supplied pages contain no analytics, advertising trackers, third-party fonts or embedded third-party media. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers used for hosting or email may process information on our behalf. Disclosures may also be necessary to meet legal duties or protect legal rights. Where processing involves a restricted international transfer, applicable safeguards are required; contact us if you need information relevant to your correspondence.

Retention and security

Correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, editorial record, legal obligations or a dispute. Technical records should be retained only as needed for service operation and security. We do not promise a universal retention period where the purpose and legal requirements differ. You may ask about retention relevant to your information.

Reasonable organisational and technical precautions are appropriate, but internet transmission and email cannot be guaranteed secure. Avoid sending information whose disclosure would cause harm.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correct or erase personal information; restrict or object to processing; and receive portable data where the conditions apply. These rights are not absolute. We may need proportionate identity verification to handle a request safely. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contacting us first may help resolve a concern, but it is not a condition of exercising your right to complain.
